VisNetic Mail Server is a high performance POP3, SMTP, IMAP, LDAP mail server for Windows 98/ME/NT4/2000/XP Pro/2003. Designed for the corporate SME as well as ISP/ASP environments, VisNetic Mail Server provides a superior combination of security, speed, and scalability. It also features several productivity-enhancement tools, including a built-in instant messaging server and support for VisNetic GroupWare, a shared calendaring component fully compatible with Microsoft Outlook.

VisNetic Mail Server includes an anti spam engine that uses three proven spam filtering technologies--Bayesian filtering, SpamAssassin processing and challenge-response. These technologies combine to provide a level of spam filtering unmatched in any other Windows mail server. VisNetic Mail Server also includes support for TLS/SSL connections, allowing for secure transmission of email to other TLS/SSL enabled mail servers on the Internet. Integrated support for the VisNetic AntiVirus Plug-in provides server level virus protection that protects all accounts from email born viruses.
A multithreaded application, VisNetic Mail Server processes email faster than its competitors. Multiple CPU support enables Mail Server to utilize several different processors at one time, creating better load sharing and resulting in improved handling times. The innovative High Speed Memory Mode places account information in RAM, giving the mail processor nearly instantaneous access to the accounts to further increase the speed of the mail server. And for all local accounts on the network, VisNetic Mail Server supports instant local delivery. Intra-company communications happen quickly, and never leave the network, keeping all messages secure and processing efficiently.
True scalability makes VisNetic Mail Server a good fit for any size organization, from a handful of employees, to thousands of employees and customers. Multiple Domain Support, standard in VisNetic Mail Server, allows for the management of several different email domains on one server computer. VisNetic WebMail, a built-in, web-based email client system allows Mail Server account holders to access email, calendars and task lists from any standard web browser on an Internet enabled computer.* Further, a built-in WAP server provides account access via a cell phone or PDA. List Serve abilities and Mailing List features make light work of large scale messaging management and ODBC database support allows for fast import of account and domain information and mailing list addresses, eliminating traditional administrative burden.

Instant Messaging, GroupWare, Shared Calendaring & Address Book
VisNetic Mail Server includes a secure, proprietary Instant Messaging server, compatible with the Jabber open XML protocol. Instant messages between the IM server and any Jabber-compatible IM client are secured using SSL/TLS encryption. IM transmissions between VisNetic Mail Server's IM server and any Jabber-compatible IM server located outside your organization are also secured via SSL/TLS.
VisNetic Mail Server's Instant Messaging server expands your communications capabilities by improving the speed and efficiency of internal exchanges and by opening up a new communication medium to valued partners and customers. Internal to your organization, IM increases employee productivity and lowers operational costs by enhancing employees' ability to multi-task, collaborate and resolve questions or problems immediately. This IM server also reduces internal email traffic and provides the ability to determine who is online and ready for a message, without leaving your desk.
VisNetic Mail Server's IM server can also be enabled, via a gateway, to work with ICQ, AIM, Yahoo and MSN IM servers. This is the first time in the history of a mail server product, that five IM services can be accessed by a single IM client. The IM Gateway license is sold separately.
VisNetic GroupWare, a separately licensed component in VisNetic Mail Server, allows administrators to provide full private and public calendaring, private and public task lists, a full event system with reminders and a shared address book to individuals within their organization. VisNetic GroupWare will allow employees to schedule meetings, invite others, enable automatic meeting reminders, etc., using Microsoft Outlook, VisNetic WebMail or any other application via an open API. GroupWare also supports notifications through Instant Messaging, a feature not available in other products.
GroupWare is easily enabled within VisNetic Mail Server and works instantly upon registration. WebMail integration is built into the server, and a simple Outlook connector installation establishes automated Outlook synchronization with any number of groupware servers. GroupWare connections can be established with minimal effort in a matter of minutes, unlike alternative solutions that require extensive expertise and maintenance.
All Groupware connections are encrypted using TLS/SSL. GroupWare access and synchronization are leveraged over a secure connection that ensures the integrity of all data that is transferred. It is standards compatible, XML and Database driven and ODBC database compliant, including Microsoft Access (installed by default), Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL and Oracle. An easy to use API allows programmers to implement support for Groupware in virtually any application to meet any organization's unique requirements.
