VisNetic MailServer to IceWarp Migration
On (Date) Deerfield.com will begin distributing IceWarp Mail Server! IceWarp Mail Server is a mail server developed by IceWarp Technologies, Inc., Deerfield.com's technology partner in VisNetic MailServer. The look and feel of IceWarp Mail Server will closely mirror what existing VisNetic MailServer users are accustomed to. Along with this new distribution agreement, VisNetic MailServer development is discontinued. IceWarp Server is a robust messaging platform relied upon by thousands of organizations, and includes a comprehensive feature set that satisfies the most demanding environments:
This change is primarily intended to satisfy the needs of existing VisNetic MailServer users, and ensure the highest level of mail server functionality and performance going forward. Under Deerfield’s previous OEM agreement with IceWarp Technologies, when IceWarp released a new version of IceWarp Mail Server, IceWarp and Deerfield would then develop a separate, rebranded build of VisNetic MailServer. This time differential between releases of IceWarp Mail Server and VisNetic MailServer was originally intended to be a benefit to Deerfield.com customers, as it allowed IceWarp to address any outstanding issues in their IceWarp release before rebranding it VisNetic MailServer. This is no longer an issue due to IceWarp’s improved Beta programs and Quality Assurance testing, which is more inline with Deerfield’s release parameters. Migrating to IceWarp Mail Server provides customers with direct access to the latest improvements, fixes and features. Additionally, this new partnership allows Deerfield.com to work alongside IceWarp to promote and support IceWarp Mail Server. I am an existing VisNetic MailServer user with Current Upgrade Protection – what should I do? Users with current upgrade protection are encouraged to migrate to the current version of IceWarp Mail Server, version 9.5, at no charge. Upgrade Protection status can be found in the VMS Admin under Help – Licenses. Migrating to IceWarp Mail Server is simple. Just download the current 9.5 version of IceWarp Mail Server and install it overtop of your existing VisNetic MailServer installation. Follow the Migration prompts and all of your existing settings, mail and users will be retained. Before performing the migration you are encouraged to:
Users with expired upgrade protection are encouraged to renew their VisNetic MailServer subscription, making them eligible to migrate to Icewarp Mail Server. This renewal pricing is only available for a limited time. Users may renew Online, or Email or call the Deerfield.com Sales Department at (989)-732-8856. If users elect to not renew their VisNetic MailServer Upgrade Protection now, and want to migrate to IceWarp Mail Server at a later date, they will need to purchase a new IceWarp license. I am a new customer looking for a mail server – what should I do? New customers are encouraged to use IceWarp Mail Server. A free, fully functional 30-day trial is available for download, and a free 30-day priority support contract is available for help with setup or to answer any questions. Will this affect the performance of the VisNetic Antivirus Plug-in for VisNetic MailServer? If you are running the VisNetic Antivirus Plug-in for VisNetic MailServer and have a current subscription, the Plug-in will continue to function properly under IceWarp Mail Server. Once your VisNetic Antivirus subscription expires you are encouraged to migrate to Avast Antivirus, which is a Plug-in integrated into IceWarp Mail Server. VisNetic Antivirus Plug-in will remain available for download, but development and subscription sales of the product are discontinued. What support options will Deerfield.com offer for IceWarp Mail Server? Deerfield.com will offer a full range of support options, including: phone support, email support, live chat, knowledge base articles, setup guides, admin guides, FAQ’s, and more. Will Deerfield.com continue to support VisNetic MailServer? Yes, as long as your VisNetic MailServer subscription is current, you will have access to Deerfield.com Support resources, which includes the ability to submit tickets and receive emails directly from VisNetic MailServer technicians. Can I still download VisNetic MailServer? Yes, the last version of VisNetic MailServer, 9.3.2, will continue to be available for Download I purchased VisNetic MailServer from a Deerfield.com Reseller, what options are available to me? The same in term or out of term options listed above are available to you; namely, if your subscription for VisNetic MailServer is current, you may migrate to the latest IceWarp Mail Server version at no charge, if your subscription is expired you may renew your subscription and migrate to Icewarp or continue to run VisNetic MailServer indefinitely, with the understanding that there will be no future improvements or releases made to VisNetic MailServer. My upgrade protection is current, but when it expires, will I be able to renew? Yes. For the next few weeks you can renew your subscription for an additional year using VisNetic MailServer pricing (even if your upgrade protection is current).
