HFNetChkPro will operate with either the .NET Framework 1.0 (and latest SP) or with .NET Framework 1.1. (Note that 1.0 and 1.1 can be installed side-by-side on the same machine.) You may need to re-associate HFNetChkPro 4.0 with the version of .NET Framework you have installed: If you have installed .NET Framework 1.1, please type the following: On Windows 2000: C:\WINNT\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\regasm.exe 'c:\program files\shavlik technologies\hfnetchkpro4\4.0.76.4\appupdater.dll' On Windows XP or Windows Server 2003: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\regasm.exe 'c:\program files\shavlik technologies\hfnetchkpro4\4.0.76.4\appupdater.dll'

This usually means that the expected version of MDAC is not installed. HFNetChkPro requires MDAC 2.7 or later.

Check the 'Reason Not Found' section of the scan results for file versions and checksums that were noted as incorrect. Also, examine the 'Machine Details' section of the Deployment History for details on what events occurred during the deployment.

Apply the latest service pack for each product, then re-scan and apply all remaining hotfixes.

The 300 second shutdown time is hard coded and cannot be configured. We plan on addressing this in a future release. For patches that require a reboot, then you are still vulnerable to the vulnerability identified in the bulletin until that patch is considered installed (i.e. you reboot the box).

This cannot be done with HFNetChkPro natively. However, I'm sure that this could be easily batch scripted using the command line scanner.

We usually release updated XML files the same business day that Microsoft releases new patches. However, sometimes it takes longer if there are a lot of patches that have to be tested. The new patches will not show up in your scans until you download the new XML files, regardless is we've updated them or not.
